Going Green – CARE INNOVATION, Austria

The Going Green – CARE INNOVATION 2018 conference focuses upon the subjects of sustainability and eco-efficiency in electronics and automotive. The event is organized by the International CARE (Comprehensive Approach for Resource and Energy Efficiency) Electronics Office and will take place November 26 – 29, 2018 in Vienna, Austria.

European Resources Forum, Berlin

11/27/2018 to 11/28/2018

The 4th European Resources Forum (ERF) will take place in Berlin, Germany on November 27 - 28, 2018. This biennial event is hosted by the German Federal Environment Agency (UBA). According to the UBA, more than 400 participants from over 40 countries visit this event to discuss sustainable resource usage and resource efficiency issues.

MFCA Workshop, Berlin


Workshop on Material Flow Cost Accounting (MFCA) to increase material efficiency. The international MFCA working group of ISO TC207 is meeting in January in Berlin.
Focus are the latest developments in the context of Material Flow Cost Accounting.

DENEFF-Jahresauftaktkonferenz, Berlin


The DENEFF-Jahresauftaktkonferenz (start of the year conference) is considered one of the most important spring events for the German energy efficiency industry. The conference is organized by the DENEFF (German enterprise initiative for energy efficiency) and will take place on February 20, 2018 in the Umweltforum in Berlin.

8. BilRess-Network conference, Frankfurt


The Bilress network stands for "Education for resource conservation and resource efficiency" and is now meeting for the 8th time for a network conference. It takes place on March 6,2018 in the “Ökohaus“ in Frankfurt. The main theme of this year's conference is "Resource formation - needs and perspectives of learners".

German Economic Efficiency Forum


The fifth German Economic Efficiency Forum for small and medium-sized enterprises will take place on March 21, 2018 at the “Zeche Westfalen” in Ahlen. The main topic of the conference will be " Lowering material and energy costs", with a further focus on digitalization.

Life Cycle Engineering Conference, Denmark

The 25th CIRP Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) conference is organized by the Technical University of Denmark. It will take place on 29 April to 02 Mai 2018 at the IDA’s (Danish Society of Engineers) Conference Center in Copenhagen. This year’s theme will be “Advancing Life Cycle Engineering to meet United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals”.

SETAC Europe, Italy

The 28th annual meeting of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC) Europe will be held May 13 – 17, 2018 in the Rome Convention Centre in Rome, Italy. The event serves as a multidisciplinary platform for the resolution of environmental problems. This year’s theme will be “Responsible and Innovative Research for Environmental Quality”.

Congress, Bonn


The kick-off event of the competence platform for sustainability and digitialization in medium-sized businesses ( will take place on May 15, 2018 at the premises of Deutsche Telekom AG in Bonn. The aim of the innovative congress is the exchange of ideas and the development of solutions for a sustainable future.

Sustainability Leaders Congress, Berlin

The Sustainability Leaders Congress takes place from 23-24 May at the Hotel Novotel Tiergarten in Berlin and is organised by the IFS Group. This brandnew event concept revolves around sustainability issues. Among others, exciting topics such as circular economy and life cycle engineering will be discussed.

ACHEMA, Frankfurt

The ACHEMA (World Forum and Leading Show for the Process Industries) will take place June 11 – 15, 2018 in Frankfurt, Germany. Every year, up to 3,800 exhibitors and over 150,000 visitors are expected to attend this event. In the year 2018, the focus will lie upon the following focal topics: Biotech for Chemistry, Flexible Production and Chemical- and Pharma Logistics.

GCV 2018, Brazil

The Brazilian Conference on Life Cycle Management 2018 (GCV 2018) will take place from 17 to 20 June, 2018 in Brasília, Brazil. It is organized by the Brazilian Life Cycle Association (ABCV). The theme of this year’s conference will be “Management of Technological Information for Sustainability”.

The Life Cycle Innovation Conference (LCIC) is organized by the Forum for Sustainability through Life Cycle Innovation (FSLCI) and will take place August 29 – 31, 2018 in Berlin. This event clearly focuses on innovation – not only in terms of life cycle approaches and sustainability, but also with regard to the organization of the conference itself.

The 32nd EnviroInfo (short for Environmental Informatics) will take place September 05 - 07, 2018 at Leibniz Supercomputing Centre (LRZ) in Garching near Munich, Germany. This year, the event will focus upon the following five topics: Efficient Computing, Virtual Discoveries, Managing Disruption, Big Data and Open Science.

9th BilRess Network Conference, Friedberg


The BilRess network stands for "Education for resource conservation and resource efficiency" and meets for the 9th semi-annual network conference. This takes place on 18.09. in the Campus Friedberg of the THM. The guiding theme is "Learning and teaching in learning laboratories and learning factories - practical ways of resource formation".

LCA XVIII, Fort Collins, USA

This annual conference is organized by the American Center for Life Cycle Assessement (ACLCA) and is considered one of the most important knowledge exchange platforms for topics related to life cycle assessment and sustainability in the USA. This year the event will take place from 25 - 28 September in Fort Collins, Colorado.

EcoBalance 2018, Japan

The 13th Biennial International Conference on Ecobalance will be held from October 9-12, 2018 at the KFC Hall & Rooms, Ryogoku in Tokyo, Japan. It is organized by the Institute of Life Cycle Assessment, Japan (ILCAJ). This year’s overarching theme will be “Nexus of ideas: Innovation by linking through life cycle thinking”.

Workshop on Life Cycle Assessment

The workshop on Life cycle Assessment called “Ökobilanzwerkstatt” is organized by the German Federal Environmental Foundation in cooperation with the University of Osnabrück. The event offers, in particular, young scientists the opportunity to exchange views on current fields of research relating to life cycle assessment.
