Actively shaping the future - within this context 15.000 guests followed an invitation of Federal President Joachim Gauck and the Federal Foundation for the Environment (DBU). Gauck himself stressed in his opening speech that an environmental production has to pay for companies in terms of competition.
An important leverage effect is provided by material and energy efficiency. IFU Hamburg presented its appropriate solutions that enable especially small and medium-sized companies to use resources in a better way which leads to both cost savings and a reduction of the production's environmental impact. At IFU's booth, entrepreneurs, representatives from science and associations were informed about how the visualization of processes by Sankey diagrams can provide an optimization of material and energy usage.
Another important topic addressed was the issue of carbon footprinting. Many companies are aware of the need for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, but the implementation still imposes great difficulties. With its solutions Umberto for Carbon Footprint and the webbased CO2 calculator CliCCC IFU Hamburg offers practical approaches for corporations of any size.
We from IFU Hamburg would like to thank for visiting our booth and the interesting conversations. We are looking forward to the next "Week of the Environment".
